Serifos, late 19th century. Perseus Konomos is killed while working in a gallery and the ambitious Drakoulis, right-hand man of Emil Groman, boss of the mines and the island, with threats, punishments and violence, removes all accusations of inadequate security measures from them.

Konomo's widow, fearing that her son might one day seek revenge, will not reveal to him who she considers responsible and thus will not be able to prevent him, when he grows up, from taking a job in the mines.

There, inspired by the fiery revolutionary Constantis Speras, he will try to awaken his compatriots and colleagues to finally demand their rights.

At the same time, he will meet the only girl on the island who he shouldn't even lay eyes on.

A strong love, against all the conventions of society, place and time, will arise on the iron island.

"I'll go in now," says the crisp voice. "Enough of us just putting our feet in the water like old women. I've been swimming since I was a baby, the German woman taught me." She courageously lifts her dress, revealing her knee-length underwear, then her sculpted back. She shakes her head back and forth to free the garment she's clutched, a torrent of red hair pours out. She advances decisively, enters up to the middle of her thighs, turns to her friend, come on. She manages to see two raw, white breasts, manages to get dizzy before she, with a spectacular dive, sinks into the water.
