Prominent psychiatrist Mats Kruger is forced to overcome his fear of flying when his soon-to-be-born daughter Nele asks him to travel from Argentina to Germany.
After attending a seminar on overcoming aerophobia, Mats boards a transatlantic flight from Buenos Aires to Berlin. However, he soon discovers that he has prepared for the wrong fears: What awaits him is neither turbulence, nor engine failure, nor a terrorist threat.
A phone call from a stranger reveals that an old patient of his is on the same flight. A patient with violent, murderous fantasies whom he is now called upon to incite to do the unthinkable; to lead to the death of the six hundred passengers on the flight as well as himself, or Nele will meet a tragic death...
