Marianne and Elinor Dashwood, after a great loss, are forced to radically change their lives, forgo all comforts, and seek security through marriage.
Their mission should be one: to find wealthy husbands.
Marianne, the younger sister, "represents" sensibility. She falls in love with her whole being with the charming but unsuitable, unreliable John Willoughby. Incapable of taming her feelings, she disregards social norms. She even ignores her sister's warning that her behavior invites gossip. Where will her fiery character lead her?
At the same time, Elinor is rational and mature. She always follows social conventions, but now she is forced to make an effort to hide—even from those closest to her—her own romantic disappointment. But for how long will she suppress her true feelings?
In an era where social class and financial status dictate the rules of love, the two sisters will forge their own path to personal happiness.
