Young archaeologist Agnes Marti moves from Barcelona to London in search of work. Shortly after arriving in the city, while walking in Temple, a sudden downpour forces her to seek shelter in Moonlight Books, a very special bookstore. The owner is looking for an employee; Agnes is captivated by his special personality and decides to accept the position. Time passes and Agnes begins to learn about the twisted character of her boss and the eccentricities of the regular customers, the charismatic boy who wants to be an astronaut, the lady with the violet hair. She feels herself being carried away by the magic of this lovely bookstore. Until one day, a precious book disappears. Inspector John Lockwood takes on the case, disturbing Agnes' peace and quiet.

A story for those who have felt that literature saved them.
The most feel-good novel you will read this year.

One had to look up at the roof of the bookstore on a starry night to understand why its owner had given it that name. The high, wooden-beamed ceiling of the second floor was majestically crowned by a remarkable pyramid-shaped glass skylight. During the day it barely let in any light, a light often dim in rainy London, but if one took the trouble to look up on a calm and clear night, one had a magnificent panoramic view of the starry, moonlit sky.
