Argentina, 1975. Two prisoners in the same cell. A bizarre attempt at coexistence between a dissident and a criminal, which could only make sense in the twisted mind of a bounty hunter of the then dormant dictatorship. The prison, however, has its own laws. Within the four walls of the cell, there will be room for acrobatic flights of imagination and free diving into the dark existential paths. And for a web, which is woven with the aim of sometimes trapping and sometimes tenderly embracing.

“Kiss of the Spider Woman” is written in 1976 in Mexico, where the author has taken refuge to escape the threats of the notorious paramilitary organization Triple A.

The novel was banned in Argentina until 1985.

Foreword, Marcos G. Breuer.
